今日やるエイリアンVSプレデター、どうせまた1なんだろと思ったら2じゃないですか！現代の住宅街に出現するエイリアンなんて夢のようなシチュや、雷鳴をバックに佇むプレデター2のビジュアルをリスペクトしてる所といい凄く好みな続編だった。3がお蔵入りになったのは本当に惜しい。

ガンダムとかガンダムじゃないとかそれ以前に宇宙からの脅威UEは正体不明の存在で意思疎通とか出来ないような感じで描写しておきながら「UEのモビルスーツ」とかいう台詞を平然と挿入したり何の前触れもなく突然UEの中の人を画面に映したりする計画性のなさが気に入らん。

世界観が「戦争は見世物だから」っていうのも、デザインを納得させるのに一役買ってるよね。オラタンあたりからドキュメンタリーではなくエンタテインメントなんだという観点からのデザインに、フォースではそれに拍車がかかっていく、みたいな。

VRのデザインで一番すげーのは、今までのメインストリームにいたロボットたちが「なんか学徒っぽい」とか「なんか武者っぽい」程度で抑えていたモチーフ的なものを臆面もなく前面に押し出して「これ軍人型ロボだから」とか「こいつバッシュ履いてるから」とかデザインとして言い切っちゃったところ
