ブラックアークでのリーペリーの創作手法は強烈である。一つのトラックに歌、DJ、主楽器が異なるインスト複数を作りそこから複数のダブを製作。一つのカットに二つ以上のヴァージョンを加えたり、一部を飛ばしたり、エコ—やディストーションをかけたり、牛の鳴き声、テレビの音まで入れた！

スカはジャズと同様に楽器が主体となる音楽でありホーン・セクションは重大な部分と位置づけた。それによりホーンミュージシャンは高額なギャラを要求した。問題を解決すべき業界はホーン主体のトラック製作を変更しホーンを最小限もしくは使わない方向にシフトし、これにより他の楽器が活躍する！
