教えてやろう、凡骨…時と場合によるが、握手だけで相手の考えを読むコツがある。まず、強く握ってくるのは自分の力を誇示したいと言う敵対心が握力に表れているのだ。両手で握手してくるのは依存心の表れ、大きく上下に振りながら握手してくるのは此方に興味のない証拠だ。まあ参考程度に覚えておけ。

ストルガツキーの魔法小説では、魔法で部屋の塩漬けニシンの臭いを抜き取るには、臭い濃度と部屋容積と年月日と土星の位置をもとにストークスの方程式を解いて魔性ベクトルを計算し、音響効果（呪文）とともに抜いた眉毛でベクトルを偏向させて実現するんだそうだ。方程式が解けないと魔法は使えない。
