気になるニュース。2021年に実施された全露国勢調査によると、露国内のタタール人口は2010年国勢調査実施時と比較して60万人近く減少したという。2010年の時点では約531万人で、今回の結果では約471万人となった。10%以上の人口減となり、タタール社会には衝撃が走っている。

在露タタールは元々ロシア国民／россиянеという自己認識を持つ人が多いが、とくにこの数年では、タタールの親のもとに生まれたとしてもロシア民族／русскиеだと宣言する人も少なからずいた。近年の社会的状況に鑑みて民族的所属を変更した人もいたのかもしれない。

実際のところ、10年と比較してなぜ10%以上の人口減少が起きたかは今はまだ分からない。きっかけがあるとすれば14年のクリミア侵攻で、これまで思われてきた／自分が思ってきた以上に大きな影響を持っていたのではないか。露国内でマイノリティとして生きることを根本から変えてしまったのではないか。
