ここでは書けない史料のお話を聞くたびに思うことは、世に知られていない史料は山ほどあるということ。しかし、自治体職員も大学教員も人手と予算不足で、埋もれたままになったり、分割して売られてしまう。各県に一つ、そうしたものが保管できる公文書館があれば、どれだけ救われる文書があることか。

堀石氏のビスマスブースのかち割りビスマスを見たひとはわかると思いますが、ビスマスは劈開が発達してて、展性延性に乏しく割れやすく、ハンマーで叩いて粉末にすると、くらい灰色の粉末になります。榕菴はこの挙動から、蒼鉛の字をビスマスにあてたものだと思われます。
