たとえば有名な種だったり最近記載された変な種だったりしても、ホロタイプ番号を一字一句覚えてる人は記載者近辺を除けばそんなにいないはず。少なくとも私は覚えていないし、標本に愛称がつくこともない。

恐竜畑に入って印象的だったのは、標本番号が割と固有名詞化していて、1ロットごとに覚えている人が多いこと。
有名どころだとMOR 555とか、AMNH 5027とか、BHI 3033とか。
魚だと標本は無限に採れるし種数も標本数も機関も無数にあるしで、そういうことはほとんどない（と思う）。
