As a result of two explosions, Russian A-50U AEW&C aircraft with reg. number RF-50608 (tail number “43 red”, plant number 0093479377, serial number 60-05) suffered significant damage: the front and center parts of the aircraft, avionics and radar antenna were damaged.

One such aircraft is serviced by 19 people (5 pilots, 11 radio and 3 engineering personnel).

2. The #H5N1 virus was from a strain of H5 viruses that has been circulating in southeast Asia since 2014. This is a different strain from the one that has swept across the Americas in the past couple of years. Different strain could equal slightly different behavior.

@ElbridgeColby I think they’re a valuable ally that can more than pull their own weight. Japanese (and Korean) investments in military will go hand in glove with recent US military investments. To separate Europe and pacific theaters will lead to miscalculations and isn’t practically feasible.
