The scene boundary is *just* offshore in Palu Bay. And what it did capture of the peninsula is clouded over--that's the dem-only area

@TropicalTidbits Another point to that argument is how the GFS and fv3 performed with handling the location of where hurricane florence made landfall compared to that of the EC. One model might one storm right, but it can be completely wrong another time.

This is commonly misunderstood. It's actually worse to have one "best" model than to have several "less-than-best-but-still-good" models, because it leaves forecasters vulnerable to systematic errors in that one model, with no alternative guidance to help vet potential outcomes. twitter.com/AgWxMan1/statu...
