西村玲さんはやはり「女性」だからその不幸なる逝去がメディアに喧伝された、と書いたが、そもそも西村さんはこれ以上無理な位驚異的な業績を積んでいる極めて優秀な研究者なんですよね。昼にも髑髏系歴史研究者氏からご指摘頂いたが、「女性」である上に「こんな優秀な人が何で」というのもあるのだ。

自死された西村玲さんの記事を読み、自分だったらどうするかを考えてみたが、とりあえずは高校の非常勤をやるとかパートで司書をやるとかで食いつなぐことはできるかなと思った。ただそれはあくまで「可能」というだけで、おそらくは焦燥感が膨れ上がってゆるゆると精神が蝕まれるのだろうとも思った。
