5. @WHO says the woman's husband was vaccinated against #Ebola in July 2019, but he was symptomatic within a few days, so clearly was infected by the time he was vaccinated.
Interesting situation. I hope it doesn't get more interesting. I hope it's mopped up quickly.

4. Another important question is: Was the woman vaccinated during the North Kivu outbreak? The Merck #Ebola vaccine is very efficacious, but because it's still new-ish, it's not known how long protection lasts.
@WHO tells me it is checking to see if the woman was vaccinated.

3. Scientists at DRC's national lab, INRB, are sequencing virus from the woman to compare to viruses from the earlier #Ebola outbreak. That should shed light on this question. Not sure how soon an answer is expected.

2. The new #Ebola case in DRC raises important questions. Is this a new outbreak, or a throwback to the 2-year long North Kivu outbreak, the second largest in history? Given that the woman was the wife of a survivor, the latter seems more likely.
