I've found similar pattern above Fagradalsfjall volcano in late April. It seems that it can be created by some combination of very high surface temperature which is causing convection and changes in air pressure. twitter.com/kosmi64833127/...

@shovel_gurl @NASA @NOAA @DrShepherd2013 Maybe @ScottDuncanWX or @weatherdak could shed some light on this phenomenon too. My hypothesis isn't based on anything solid, it's just my wild guess. Significant amount of hot water vapour coming from the volcano may also have something to do with this 🙂
