When I asked commanders about the SAF & RSF partnership and why they are now calling them "rebels" - the answer was roughly: we were on the same side but the RSF agenda changed and became influenced by foreign actors and personal interests.

There's no doubt that the army are using the futility of this war to pump public approval - and many are rooting for who they see as the lesser of two evils.
I wonder how this will change as time goes on and the "rebel" narrative loses its grip.

SAF claimed gains against RSF always feel grossly exaggerated.
We were told by generals that "the war will be over in three days" earlier this week and it didn't even look like they believed it as they said it.
